Andrew Jeffers, MD was one of the select high school students who was accepted into the University of Michigan Medical School out of high school. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He then completed a five-year residency program in Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Michigan which included staffing University of Michigan football games and attending to the injured players.

After his residency, Dr. Jeffers was asked to stay on as a teaching faculty in the Adult Reconstruction (aka Joint) Section of the Orthopaedic Surgery Section at the University of Michigan. He also had a concurrent appointment as the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Ann Arbor Veterans Affairs Hospital, where he was able to clear a five-year backlog of veterans requiring joint replacements within two years.

Dr Jeffers then joined a large orthopaedic practice in the Pasadena area but was drawn to the Ventura County area because his wife, Dr. Lynn Jeffers, grew up in the area and they moved to be closer to family. He has run successful solo practice since 2003.

Dr. Andrew Jeffers has earned the trust of his colleagues and was elected as the Medical Staff President of St. John's Regional Medical Center and Pleasant Valley Hospital. He has also served as the Chief of Surgery of both hospitals, as well as many leadership committees within the hospital including search committees, operating room efficiency and safety, and strategic planning sessions. Dr. Jeffers is currently the Medical Director of St. John's Orthopedic Institute which is focused on improving the care and experience of orthopaedic patients.

Dr. Jeffers values patient safety and efficiency during surgery and as such, has designed the Jeffers Hip Retractor for use during anterior hip replacements. In addition to his clinical duties, he also acts as the Chief Medical Officer of Crely, Inc. (https://www.crely.ai/) seeking to identify early infections after surgery and improving the outcomes of joint replacement surgery.
